Tamagotchi has now matured

Remember the Tamagotchi craze that swept the world a decade ago? Back then I was still a kid who was wet behind his ears, and never really managed to save enough money to purchase one for my enjoyment, no thanks to my healthy diet of comics from Marvel and DC. Apparently it has taken quite some time for Bandai to realize what Nintendo knew all along - there will always be kids around. This enlightenment has caused Bandai to release a spanking new type of Tamagotchi that offers way more potential and enjoyment to owners throughout its battery-powered life.

The older Tamagotchis never really had much to worry about other than getting the right amount of tender loving care, some attention, and food and drink. These new ones have grown up, and just like how one enters the rat race to fend for him/herself, the new Tamagotchis are required to be treated carefully in order to snag a decent job when they reach adulthood. Sounds like an insane idea, but it is actually out in the market now, so if you have £12.95 to spare, why not head out to your nearest toy store and pick one up?
The Tamagotchi Jinsei does not only continue the circle of life by reproducing, it is also capable of having meaningful social encounters with other Tamagotchis, occasionally alerting your to fill its needs (such as food, love, and kindness), as well as requiring a nice office suit for the mad morning rush. There’s not much information available on the type of careers your Tamagotchi can hold, but it is interesting to see how the game takes a different twist with the inclusion of online games and the ability to swap information with other Tamagotchis via the integrated infrared function.

YouTube - Tamagotchi gets Mail

Tamagotchi Kakeibo, Chou yarikuri Enjoy

Tamagotchi Kakeibo, Chou yarikuri Enjoy :

"Tamagotchi Account book" :

Enjoy getting by with what little money

you have"

Kakeibo is not really a Tamagotchi, you don't care for any gotchis.

What it is, is a tool for managing and economizing for your ENTAMA.

Kakeibo means [money book]

While It might be possible for other infrared tams to connect, the

website says in bold letters "For Use with Entama".

The Kakeibo comes with an account book as well that you use to hold

your Kakeibo.

Basically, the kakeibo is more in-depth Deka with some tamatown

thrown in,

Think of it as a place in TamaTown that you can own and go to anytime

you want.

The places that are on Ginza street are:

Drug Store

Convenience Store

Flower Shop

Cake Shop

Ginza Supermarket

discount Store

There is also a Gotchi Bank for you to deposit money for later use.

You can also invest your money into Gotchi stock and watch your

invest grow. Or drop.

CHARACTER: Dango Obatchi-san

Why get one? You can only have 9999G on your Entama. This thing is like a bank to keep your Gotchi points in so you can buy those expensive Entama items!

There is the Gotchi Library

Here you can make a dictionary. If you help in the library you can

recieve free service.

[Thats my direct translation from the website - what it means to make

a dictionary, I have no idea.]

CHARACTER: Waka Okutchi San

Next there is the YariKuri Center

[Yarikuri means "to manage, or get by, the best you can with what you

have"]

Here you can auction off, or sell your gotchi points, or items and so

on in a flea

market.

Osewatchi's house.

Osewatchi is the main character on the Kakeibo and she'S Ginza's most

famous resident. She'll

help you out around Ginza Street.

Finally there is the Ginza Street Arcade.

Here you can play games and win money and items [I think] But the

website only says that you have

to keep the ball from hitting Osewatchi. So it seems there is only

one game in the Arcade.

New TAMAGOTCHI SCHOOL

Everyone is Crazy about Tamagotchis | TOPICS Online Magazine | ESL/EFL | Sandy and Thomas Peters

Tamagotchi became popular in the fall of 1996 when they were introduced in Japan by the Bandai Toy Company. They are sold as "interactive digital pets."

First, the fad spread out among high school girls and office girls, and then the mass media also put out a lot of news to inform the public about tamagotchi.

When a store receives a new shipment of tamagotchi, many people always find out and form a huge line outside the store the night before it opens. They wait there all night, sometimes ten hours or longer, hoping to buy one. Everyone is crazy about them.

Problems created by the tamagotchi
It is hard to get a tamagotchi because they are in great demand. The company tries to make more, but stores sell them as fast as the company makes them.

There are never enough, so there are a lot of problems. For example, many high school girls play with them while they are in class, and even office workers play with them when they should be working. As a result, some schools have made rules against them, and they tell the students not to bring them to school.

Another problem is that people steal them from each other. Sometimes, a person who has just bought a tamagotchi is followed by other people who couldn't get one and who try to take them.

Another problem is that people sell them for too much money, especially the white tomagotchi. On the Internet, these white ones are sold for over 150,000 yen (over $1,500)!

Why do tamagotchis attract so many people?
One critic said that this phenomenon is the result of modern times. People who live in cities can't have pets in apartments of crowded towns. That is why there is so much demand for tamagotchis. People can't have real pets, so they want virtual pets.

How the tamagotchi works
The tamagotchi is egg-shaped, and it has a small screen and three buttons. If you push one of the buttons, an egg hatches. Then you have to feed and take care of the chick. It is like a real pet because it cries when it is hungry or when it wakes up or when it poops. Then you have to push a button to feed it or clean it up. Sometimes, you have to play with it.

It's an easy game, but you have to win. If you win the game, the chick (the tamagotchi) is happy and grows well. However, if you lose, the chick is bad and can even die. The company made 8 different kinds of tamagotchi characters, but you don't know which one you will get. People all over Japan want to get a tamagotchi, but sometimes they get a strange one. It is usually hard work to take care of them.
